Political Violence Prevention Projects
Uniters in Adams and Franklin Counties are designing and implementing projects to reduce risks of political violence during the 2024 election season. See below to learn more!
Declaration Against Political Violence
A politically diverse group of citizens of Adams and Franklin Counties wrote a Declaration Against Political Violence that has been signed by more than 100 local political and civic leaders. If you live in one of those counties, you can add your name here.
No Political Violence Yard Signs
Yard signs are a ubiquitous feature of political campaigns, so this politically diverse team designed signs with anti-political violence messages that folks will be happy to display no matter what other signs they have in their yards.
Community De-Escalation Workshops
De-escalation skills are critical for preventing tense situations from escalating to violence. UPPV Uniters are offering UR Action’s De-escalation Skills Workshop for free to community groups in Adams and Franklin Counties during this election season. Contact us for more information if your group is interested in scheduling one.

Love Your Neighbor Videos
Democrats and Republicans can sit down to a meal together and enjoy each other’s company, and our Uniters are working on the videos to prove it! Look for links coming soon.
Community Conversations
No matter what the outcome of the election is, our communities are going to need to talk about it to rebuild relationships and strengthen ties that can be frayed by political division. Our Uniters will be holding Community Conversations to facilitate that — stay tuned for dates, locations, and details.
This project is funded by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Center for Prevention Programs and Partnerships, opportunity number DHS-22-TTP-132-00-01.
